Enrollment Process

How to join the co-op: eligibility, class registration, family volunteer commitments, and important deadlines.

Begin by spending time on our website to learn about our programs, our approach to secular, evidence-based learning, and the values that shape our co-op community. This helps families understand who we are and what it feels like to learn with us.

Connect With Us

We look forward to getting to know your family. Schedule a call to see whether Rooted in Discovery is a good fit for your learner. Because we are a small, relationship-driven community, we take care to thoughtfully review every potential new member. After your call, next steps may include an in-person interview, work samples, or a trial day so we can better understand your learner’s needs and learning style.

Step 3

Complete an Application

If we mutually feel that our co-op is a good fit, we’ll invite you to complete an application. You’ll receive all the information you need to feel confident, prepared, and supported as you join our learning community.

Space is Limited!

We review all applications with care and intention. Our priority is cultivating a positive, collaborative environment where learners can thrive. For this reason, we may decline enrollment when it is not the right fit. As part of our policy, we do not discuss the specifics of individual enrollment decisions.

Payments

Tuition is $1,650 for the year. Monthly tuition is $165, due on the 1st of each month from August through May.

  • Cash
  • Venmo
  • Zelle

Step Up for Students

Rooted in Discovery is an authorized Step Up for Students (SUFS) direct pay provider. For PEP and UA scholarship recipients, all program fees can be paid directly through your Step Up For Students account.

How to Pay via Step Up For Students

Step 1: Log into Your EMA Account

Go to stepupforstudents.org and log in to your parent portal.

Step 2: Access the Marketplace

From the left-hand menu, click on “Marketplace” and select “Find Providers.”

Step 3: Select Your Student

Choose your student from the drop-down menu in the upper right-hand corner.

Step 4: Search for Rooted In Discovery

Use the following filters to find our co-op:

  • Service Category: (Leave blank)
  • Service Type: (Leave blank)
  • Class Type: (Leave blank)
  • Keyword: Rooted In Discovery

Step 5: Select Our Location

Choose the St. Johns location from the drop-down menu.

Step 6: Reserve Your Funds

  • Select your tuition
  • Click “Add to Cart”
  • Go to your cart and click “Reserve Funds” to finalize your payment

Please note that program costs and fees are non-refundable.
